3 Tips: Do You Share A Bathroom?

By Wright Smiles

If you share a bathroom, whether with a roommate, spouse, children, relative, or otherwise, that means you’re sharing a sink. The very special space you use for your dental hygiene! While you might not give this shared space a second thought, it may be about time that you do. Not sure what sharing the same area has to do with your smile and oral health? We have a few tips that may come as a bit of a surprise!

Tip #1: Make Sure You Have Your Own Brush

Do you share your bathroom with someone you’re very close with, such as your spouse? If so, we understand that it might seem logical to share one toothbrush. However, this is a very bad dental hygiene move, indeed. We each have a special combo of bacteria going on in our mouths, which is best kept to ourselves. Keep your smile healthy by using your own toothbrush.

Tip #2: Keep Brushes Separate

Yes, just as much as we suggest you don’t share one toothbrush, we suggest you keep brushes from coming into direct contact with one another! Why? Consider the reason set forth in Tip #1.

Tip #3: Rely On Accessories

Not sure how to go about keeping everything separate to promote optimal dental hygiene? It’s easy. Take a stroll down the home goods aisle of your local superstore or home decor store and you will find a plethora of accessories made for storing multiple toothbrushes as we suggest: Upright, out in the open, and without bristles touching other bristles.
