Want a fun, entertaining, and rewarding way to stay cool with your kids this summer? The Southlake Library, with the help of numerous sponsors throughout the community, presents the Southlake Summer Reading 2014 program for childrens, teens, and story-lovers of all ages. As proud and dedicated members of the Southlake community, family dentists, Dr. Wright and Dr. Heron, encourage everyone to experience the magic of reading, and the family fun events being held at the library throughout the summer.
Southlake Summer Reading 2014
The Southlake Summer Reading program is designed to help kids get excited about the literary world, and offers a number of prizes that children win by reaching milestones in reading. To learn more, or to register online, visit the City of Southlake website here.
Fizz Boom Read
For ages 1-12, the Fizz Boom Read program allows your child to log the number of hours they read. For every five hours of reading time, your child will win a prize, as well as be entered for a chance to win even more in our periodic prize drawings. Prizes for children include an iPad 2, skateboard, Lego Movie set, and dozens of other toys.
Spark a Reaction
For ages 13-17, the Spark a Reaction also allows your child to track their progress and receive prizes for every five hours of reading, with additional chances to win prizes by writing reviews of the books they read.
Literary Elements
For adults 18 & up, Literary Elements allows you to enter weekly random prize drawings every time you check something out from the library, and whenever you bring your child to one of our summer literary programs. Prizes for teens and adults include an iPad 2 and a wealth of gift certificates to popular places and vendors, like the Cheesecake Factory, Central Market, Barnes and Noble, iTunes, and many more.
