3 Steps: Preparing For Your Cleaning And Checkup

By Wright Smiles

You know that lingering feeling you get when you are finished paying your bills, your work is done, you’re off to do something enjoyable but you just think you’re forgetting something? If you get this sensation as you prepare for your dental cleaning and checkup, it might be because you are missing a few details. Allow us to walk you through a few simple steps to ensure you are fully prepared to see us (don’t worry, they’re a breeze).x

Step 1: Brush Your Teeth, Please

As a wonderful courtesy to our team, we encourage you to brush your teeth before you come in for your dental cleaning and checkup. In addition, this is a courtesy to yourself! You see, if you’ve just gobbled down some cookies and plop yourself down in our chair, we won’t be able to get a good look at your teeth or clean them as efficiently. It’s much more convenient to remember this step.

Step 2: Gather Your Questions

You know how it goes. You come up with questions over the six months since your last dental visit. Then, you come in for your dental cleaning and checkup and can’t remember any of the things you were going to ask us. Gather them up with pen and paper, your phone, or otherwise, so you’re ready to ask and receive answers.

Step 3: Check Your Wallet, Calendar, Phone

Before you leave home, make sure you have your wallet with you (and any necessary cards like a credit card, insurance card, etc.). Check your calendar to make sure you’re coming in on the right day and at the right time for your dental cleaning and checkup. Then, of course, check that your phone is on silent when you arrive at our office. Easy!
