3 Aspects Of Oral Health To Organize

By Wright Smiles

Much like the overwhelming feeling that might come over you when you decide it’s time to deep clean your house because spring has arrived – the sudden desire to get organized to protect your oral health can feel very strong. When this occurs, it’s very beneficial to have a handle on the aspects of your smile’s health that, once in order, will most quickly lead you toward a successfully healthy smile that looks beautiful and functions well. Let’s take a moment to explore.

#1: Your Bathroom

To begin, we suggest you start with the basics. This means making sure you have everything you need for successful dental hygiene at home. If not, taking care of your oral health may prove somewhat frustrating when it should be simple. Take stock of your bathroom and make sure the following is true:

  • You have a toothbrush with soft bristles
  • You have toothpaste free of abrasive ingredients
  • You have dental floss
  • You have everything in one place for easy access
  • You have a cup, toothbrush holder, or some other way to store your toothbrush in the open air

#2: Your Visits

Now, you need to organize your visits with us. We suggest you schedule six-month visits, so we see you twice a year. Rely on whatever system works for you, whether that means scheduling on your way out of our practice after a checkup and cleaning or calling us from home – just make sure you do it!

#3: Your Daily Habits

Much like organizing your bathroom, organizing your daily habits in oral health protection is simple but extremely important. We recommend the following:

  • Brush in the morning
  • Brush again at night
  • Floss at least once
