Recycle Your Tree (and More)

Whew! As holiday visitors return home, and schedules return to their regular pattern, it’s time to take a breath and look around. There are probably plenty of smiling family photos to enjoy, which shows that your good dental care in Southlake, TX is paying dividends with your smile. Meanwhile, is there a holiday tree still standing in your living room or hall? You can help the environment (and check one chore off your post-holiday list) by stowing decorations, and recycling your Christmas tree.

Are All Trees Recyclable?

Real trees are suitable for recycling. Artificial trees are not accepted at this recycle event.

How Does the Tree Recycle Program Work?

The City will grind up the trees, producing wood chips. Not only does this save space in the landfill, but the mulched chips can be picked up at the same location, at a later date. They can be used in a variety of garden and landscape projects.

How Do I Prepare My Tree?

Please remove all decorations, tinsel and lights from your tree, in preparation for recycling. Please also remove any base that may have been attached. Bring your bare tree to:
Bicentennial Park
450 West South Lake Boulevard
Southlake, TX

When is This Program Happening?

  • DROP OFF BARE TREES: You can drop off trees until January 17, 2019
  • PICK UP MULCH: January 18 – 25, 2019

Any Other Recyclables I Should Know About?

Keep Southlake Beautiful accepts donations of old cell phones. These phones are reconditioned and donated to organizations that distribute them to people in needful situations, who cannot afford a cellphone.
