Recycle Fallen Leaves in Southlake

By Wright Smiles

You’ve heard this before: What goes up must come down, and that includes fall leaves. With the onset of cool weather, it won’t be long before leaves start to cover the yard. Raking can be healthy fun, but after you (or your children, or your grandchildren) have had fun jumping in the leaves, you may wonder what to do with them. Fortunately, the city of Southlake has an annual leaf recycling program, that picks up bagged leaves at your curb.

What are the Program Guidelines?

The program is designed to keep leaves out of the landfill. Instead, Southlake residents can put their bagged leaves at the curb on selected days, to be picked up by Republic Waste Services, the city’s recycling provider. Bagged leaves should be placed away from other solid waste, for ease of automated collection.  Any type of bags can be used.

What are the Dates and Hours?

All the special leaf recycling pickup dates are Wednesdays.

Bagged leaves should be at the curb by 7:00 am on any of the 3 remaining collection dates. You can place your leaves on just one collection date, or on more that one date. The remaining collection dates are:

  • Wednesday, December 7, 2016
  • Wednesday, December 21, 2016
  • Wednesday, January 11, 2017
