Marvel at the Marvel Experience in Fair Park

By Wright Smiles

It may be a bit of a drive from Southlake, but this weekend is a great time to check out North Texas’ hottest attraction, the Marvel Experience. Billed as “the world’s first hyper-reality tour,” the event runs from January 9 through February 1 at the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park. The 2-acre interactive experience will thrill your kids and your own inner superhero nerd. You don’t want to miss your chance to meet Superman, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, and over 15 additional superheroes.

What Is the Marvel Experience?

The Marvel Experience takes place in 7 superdomes, created especially for the event. With technology derived from multi-person gaming, it has never been easier to enter into the world of your favorite Marvel heroes and villains. You’ll walk through a 360-degree, 3-D projection dome. You’ll also get to ride a 4-D ride, where you will come face-to-face with some of the most famous superheroes of all time. Of course, after battling all those villains to save the world, you’ll be ready for some rest. Fortunately, you can browse a huge selection of Marvel memorabilia and enjoy a meal at the superhero-themed café.

The Marvel Experience is designed for older kids and adults. The event coordinators caution that the rides and interactive experiences contain intense action sequences that may be frightening to young children. Strollers are not permitted, and children must be over 40 inches tall to ride the Motion Ride, Holo-Blaster Training Simulator, and Climbing Wall. Children 40 to 48 inches tall must be accompanied by someone age 14 or above to participate in these activities.

Adult tickets are $34.92 during off-peak times (10 am to 6 pm). During peak hours (6 pm to close), prices go up to $39.50. Please note that entrance times are pre-assigned so you should buy your tickets in advance. Times vary daily, so please check the website for more information.

A Note from Your Dental Superheroes

At our office, we pride ourselves on being superheroes of another kind. Although we don’t battle goblins or corrupt Norse gods, we spend our lives fighting against hidden villains – bacteria, plaque, and tartar. We would be remiss in our duties if we didn’t remind you to take good care of your teeth. Together, we can defeat the evil villains that cause dental decay!
