Common Questions About Cosmetic Dentistry

Question: How do I brighten my teeth?

Answer: We offer two professional teeth whitening options. Our in-office procedure, Zoom! Whitening, involves applying a bleaching gel to the teeth and activating it with a curing light, removing stains in about an hour. We also offer a take-home option. We create a set of trays that the patient fills with a bleaching gel and wears overnight or for several hours during the day. Optimal results take about two weeks.

Question: How will the doctor repair damaged teeth?

Answer: If you have a chipped, cracked, or broken tooth we can often apply several layers of dental bonding, a composite resin that can restore lost tissue in one visit. Another option involves applying porcelain veneers, or thin shells or porcelain, to the front of the teeth, instantly changing the appearance of the smile.

Question: What is a smile makeover?

Answer: With a smile makeover we use a combination of several cosmetic and/or restorative treatments to change the appearance of the teeth. They can be either conservative, including teeth whitening or dental bonding, or more in depth and require veneers or even tooth replacement with dental implants.

Question: What if I need straighter teeth?

Answer: We can help address minor alignment issues for patients 16 and older with Realine. The treatment process requires three to six months and uses clear plastic aligners to reposition the teeth. Correcting alignment can improve your appearance and reduce the risk of cavities, gum disease, or even TMJ disorder.
