Texas weather can be fickle, but warm or cool, it is always nice to be outdoors. Dress for the weather, and spend some time outdoors! The Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve invites you to learn more about camping in the state of Texas, so you will be ready when the wildflowers bloom, and the days warm up. The preserve has been managed by The City of Southlake since early in 2019, and provides a beautiful and wooded retreat for those in the Southlake, TX community and surrounding areas.

When Can I Learn About Camping?

The “Are You Interested In Camping” program is scheduled for Saturday, February, 15, 2020. The class begins at 9:00 am and lasts until 11:00. This will be a “hands on” type class, so come ready to participate! You will learn safety measures, trail etiquette, fire building and safety, how to set up and take down a tent, what to pack, how to dress and much more.

Where is The Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve?

The physical address is 355 Bob Jones Rd., in Southlake, TX 76092. The preserve covers over 750 acres, with access to over 20 miles of hiking trails. From the preserve, you can also access the Walnut Grove National Recreation Trail, situated on land of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
