Your Southlake Dentist Earned the Prestigious AACD Fellowship
The goal of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) is to further the art and science that goes into cosmetic dentistry. Founded in 1984, the Academy has grown to become the most widely recognized organization for cosmetic dentists. Over 6,000 professionals in over 70 countries around the world are members of the Academy, giving each dental professional a global classroom in which to learn.
The Academy participates in philanthropic events and conferences and publishes a peer-reviewed journal for continued learning among members. Academy members work together to improve the field of cosmetic dentistry by participating in research and sharing ideas with one another.
Dr. Gregory Wright has dedicated himself to pursing the excellence that the Academy stands for by becoming an Accredited Fellow of the AACD. This prestigious fellowship is the highest level of excellence that can be achieved within the Academy. In the same way that a medical degree has certain requirements that must be met before a degree is granted, the AACD Fellowship has specific requirements that must be achieved before a dentist may use the title of Accredited Fellow.
What Are The Requirements for the AACD Dentist Fellowship?
The requirements for fellowship with the AACD are significant and require the candidate to perform a variety of qualified procedures, submitted to the AACD for review. To even be eligible to apply, the candidate must first be accredited with the AACD.
To become accredited with the Academy, dentists must engage in written examinations and attend continuing education workshops. Then, candidates must submit clinical cases that fulfill strict requirements for a portfolio of select case types. An oral examination must also be completed by the candidate before he or she may be considered for final accreditation.
What is Dr. Gregory Wright’s Accreditation?
Fort Worth area cosmetic dentist Dr. Wright earned his accreditation with the AACD in 2000. His dedication to excellence in cosmetic dentistry led to his inclusion, in 2001, as one of 40 examiners who are consulted during the accreditation process. He then earned his Fellowship in 2008 after fulfilling an even more rigorous set of requirements to achieve the highest level of accreditation. Dr. Wright has been an integral part of the AACD, serving as chairperson for written examinations. In 2008, he was selected to serve as one of the five examiners who actively screen candidates in the Fellowship application process. In 2013, he was elected to the Board of Directors for the Academy.
