A Concert in the Park in Southlake

Looking for an event you can take your whole family to? Southlake city has many events for its residents that you can attend; one upcoming event is an outdoor concert at Rustin Park Pavilion in Family Park on Saturday, November 8, 7:30-9:00 p.m. As family dentists, we recommend the concert as an event that you can take your children to, for a fun night. If you would like more information, visit the City of Southlake’s official website for an overview of the event.

What Is the Concert in the Park?

Every year, the City of Southlake holds a series of concerts at the Rustin Park Pavilion on various Saturdays, spring through fall. These concerts are part of the MasterWorks Series of concerts, sponsored by Arts Council Northeast and Southlake city. They provide child-friendly entertainment for free, and the different concerts offer a variety of genres of music from different bands. This Saturday, Johnny D and the Doo Wopps will play old rock and roll music. Past performances this year have included musical themes such as Beatles music, new country, jazz, and swing. Johnny D and the Doo Wopp’s show is the last concert of this year in Southlake, and thus your last chance to enjoy the opportunity until next year.

MasterWorks Concert Series

The shows are masterminded by Arts Council Northeast and many different cities in the north of Tarrant County, such as Souhtlake, Hurst, and Watauga. These concerts are all offered free of charge to bring music and arts to the community who sponsors them. The series offers more than 90 concerts a year to the various cities, and also offers some dance and theater.

Johnny D and the Doo Wopps

The band has been active since the early 1980s. Johnny D, whose real name is John Dosher, started the band, and has played in places from symphony halls to piano bars. Their style includes music from the 1960s and 70s, some doo wopp, and soul music.
